SUICIDE AND SELF HARM
This training provides participants with skills to identify and communicate with children and young people at risk of self harm and suicide.
A clear distinction is made between self harm and suicide: current thinking, statistics and methods of management are provided.
Following extensive trials in 2017 two courses are now available:
- Suicide and Self Harm Foundation Course: this is for teaching and pastoral staff who have not had training in this.
- Suicide and Self Harm Advanced Course: this is for school counsellors and psychologists as well as teaching staff who have had basic training in these areas.
The format is discussion and activity based. This is a useful and practical training day that empowers staff to manage situations relating to suicide and self harm and which they can take back to schools to cascade to other staff.

Training will be available in South East Asia in October and November 2018 and April and May 2019.
